Gatorz was founded in San Diego with one intent: build the toughest, most durable eyewear on earth from billet aluminium. No plastic. No compromise. The kind of eyewear you machine — not mould.

From skydiving to Special Operations
The aluminium frame's adjustable fit and ballistic-rated lenses made Gatorz the natural choice for US Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, and Marine Raiders. Word spread the way it always does in that world — not through advertising, but through operators telling each other what actually works. Thirty-five years later, that's still how most people first hear about Gatorz. Including us.

THE GEAR WE WERE GIVEN

Between us, we've served across NSW Police, NSW Corrective Services and the ADF. We've worn gear that's failed. We've watched colleagues wear gear that's failed. And we've seen what happens when the kit between you and a threat isn't up to the job.

Gatorz came into view via a colleague who'd served in the Special Operations Engineer Regiment before transitioning to policing. His recommendation was straightforward: best eyewear for the job. The Frame is Aluminium

7075 aircraft-grade billet aluminium, CNC-machined in San Diego. Not polycarbonate. Not nylon. Aluminium holds its adjusted shape permanently, withstands heat and field conditions that warp plastic, and provides rigidity that directly translates to lens stability under impact. There's a reason it's the same alloy used in aircraft structural components.

MILSPEC Certified Lenses

MIL-PRF-32432A and ANSI Z87.1+ certification means the Gatorz Ballistic Series have been independently tested and confirmed. The MILSPEC lenses are tested to the standard required by the US military and Law Enforcement organisations. When we say ballistic, we mean it in the technical sense of the word.
